One question... does flashing from DOS necessitate booting into DOS mode, or can I flash from a command prompt while in Windows?

    Boot into DOS.
You can use a Bootable Floppy, Bootable USB Flash Drive or a Bootable CD to Flash from.

I elected to use a bootable USB drive. The flash appears to have updated me correctly, but I am still getting the same error message at the bottom right of the screen when I log into Windows.

(It is Win 7 Ultimate x64 by the way)

Wait... I think I see the problem. Perhaps I should have been more specific and requested a modded BIOS with SLIC version 2.1 ?

Did you install the Proper Key and the Certificate tha twas supplied with the BIOS Mod ?
If not, do that and then go re-Validate Windows at the M$ Genuine site.

    Thanks NoJuan,
I have installed the certificate, but how do I install the key?

I have a key already installed and I can see by viewing my system properties that it is indeed an OEM key. (I could change the key I suppose, but I couldn't find one included with the files for the BIOS flash)

Thanks for your help and patience!
