BIOS Mod Fail :-( Thanks for your help. I tried the BIOS slic mod on another computer first and it doesn't seem to work. Maybe you can look over what I did and point out any errors I may have made. Installed Windows 7 Ultimate Successfully installed certificate Entered Windows 7 Ultimate Key provided in the rar And it still says I have 29 days left to activate. What did I do wrong??? Thanks in advance
Ok that was weird. I went back and looked everything over and instead of using the command line I tried the change product key in the GUI. I did it 2 or 3 times and then it finally said it is ACTIVATED! Oh yeah thats a gooood feeling. So how does it activate. Does it look for a slic in the bios because Win7 has a certificate installed. Just for a hoot I rebooted with the NIC unpluged but that had no effect on activation. Don't know why the cmd line didn't do it the first time around. But it worked so now onto some of my other PC's. Now off to reinstall Vista on my T61. Its afflicted with the dreaded black screen lock up from one of those foolproof Windows Updates. ;-) LOL I used to hate Windows, now I see it as job security. Thanks much for all the help
