Did you flash it from DOS like this ? Afudos xxx.ROM /p /n /c xxx.ROM = your Bios File. Without the switches it won't update the NVRAM properly.
Most ASRock bioses don't even standard AMI bios recovery it is removed to save space not to sure about newer ones though.
Used my P5Q deluxe board to flash chip. That was hard Anyway BIOS size is 8 Megabytes, so standard AMI bios recovery is obsolete. Requaries some china language skills. I tried to find any OEM desctops by asus, dell etc on p67 motherboard and with windows OEM license, but all they has non uefi bios. If i'll find some UEFI bios with slic from manufacturer, i'll send it to you, hope that helps.
