Hi, this is my first post here, I just found 2 forums about BIOS mod and I really need to ask you somehing...

Is it possible to modify a bios that only allows me to change the CAS lantency? I need to change all. My memory is 3 3 3 8 and the mobo is setting it to 2 2 2 5, and it only let me change the first value... I'm having blue screens all the time. Mem test works good, also all other stress tests.

I've flashed that G31MXP-K Bios to my board probably 5 times already. It hangs at the windows loading screen everytime. Whether I'm trying to install Win7Ultimate x64 or I'm booting from the hard drive. It always hangs for about 30minutes. Very frustrating. It doesn't do that after I reflash the G31MXP bios, which is the revision. Something has to be different between the two bios files. I tried SSV3 method with Award SLIC Tool v1.50 and the 30min pause went away, but I couldn't activate because it said that I have two ACPI tables.

I flashed the bios and used the enclosed Dell certificate to activate win 7 ultimate and it was activated. I updated it from Microsoft site . after couple of months Win 7 said windows was not genuine . I think The problem was Dell Systemar Bios in the SLIC , instead of Award bios used by Gigabyte.

After being flagged not genuine , I reinstalled win 7 . Perusing the Forum threads I found that now a Gigabyte SLIC is available . I downloaded Bios SLIC File and checked it with on line check from http: //d-fault.nl/SlicCertTest.aspx.

I downloaded Fresh copy of the F13 bios from gigabyte site for the mother board . I flashed the original bios F13 without modification, Being new I have no way to ascertain the SLIC without flashing and then running the SLIC ToolKit v3.2., and getting the ACPI Dump to get 374 byte SLIC Bin file , for checking .

I found that the original Bios already has a SLIC 2.1 , but for HP !!! My Dell XRM certficate was flagged by both Slice Tool kit 3.2 as well as online check from http: //d-fault.nl/SlicCertTest.aspx.

I installed the HP certificate ( HPQOEM-2.1[573FCB8E] and used it to activate win 7 with the same Dell OEM key. After reinstalling win 7.I was able to update from Microsoft site including the KB971033 update. Again my system was flagged as "Windows 'Not genuine'."

I reinstalled win7 , updated except for the KB971033 update. I was ok with popup message telling More updates are aviable every time I switch on computert. Then my Hard
drive crashed . I reinstalled win 7 on new drive and updated except for the KB971033 update, on Jan 09/2011. I find that Service Module: c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll
is no longer running and making entries in the log.

Now I would like to put Gigabyte Slice in My Bios F13 and have Dual boot system . I have tried all methods SSV3, SSV3 ACPITbl at end, OEM7, dynamic, 0+2, FACS ... with award tool 1.37 and 1.50 . The Tool Report Reports Success , but after flashing bios and booting up and checking with SLIC TOOL KIT 3.2 it still shows HPQOEM2.1 ??

I must be doing something wrong . I can't figure it out . If some one can kindly point it out to me please , it would be very helpful. I would like to know if it can be done by editing the SLIC in Hex and how to go about doing it and How can I extract the 374 Byte SLIC BIN file from the 1+ megabyte Bios file ? Thank you.

I need a dual boot system with WIN XP . I need to run UFS3 Software for Mobile repair UFS-3 Box from www .sarasbox.co.uk , which only runs on Win 2000 and Win XP. I also have a Spiderman box and software for chinese made Mobiles which runs only XP, because there are no drivers for Win 7.I would also like to get XP OEM activated by the same SLIC 2.1.

If some one can Kindly insert the Gigabyte SLIC in the F13 Bios Please , It would be helpful and solve my problem. Sorry about the long Post . Thanking you.
