    Hi all,

I am actually looking for an original, NOT SLIC modified, BIOS for an Asus P5BW-LA Basswood3G UL8E motherboard.

Now, I stress, that this is for the Basswood3G and NOT the Buckeye, Basswood or Basswood2 which are all also Asus P5BW-LA motherboards.

This is another HP OEM board made by Asus. HP does not have a BIOS softpaq posted on their website as there has never been an update to this BIOS, AFAIK.

I did an ISA SLIC 2.1 modification to a copy of the BIOS that I extracted form the M/B and flashed it back successfully.
The good news is that the SLIC took and Windows 7 is now activated.
The bad news is, that it seems that I may have corrupted the onboard Intel NIC ROM in the doing.

I assume that the onboard network chip ROM is contained in the BIOS.
I flashed the unmodified BIOS back but the NIC is still not working properly.

So now I wonder whether my original BIOS extraction was bad or my flash spilled over into an area that it should not have.

I used awd865.exe to extract but awdflash v 1.34 to flash back.

I also tried the switches as per NoJuan999's advice for a different version of this M/B.

BTW, I also did a PubKey mod but flashing that one did not alter the existing v2.0 SLIC table.

    TIA,

    bisk
