    I. How do you flashed the bios ? (Original then, after reboot - modified ? From Windows or DOS ?)
    /Same method's Mod has been confirmed for K52JB laptop!/
    II.
    1. Rename the original (from ASUS's site) K42JBAS.219 file to K42JB.BIN
    2. Copy K42JB.BIN file to usb flash stick (FAT16/FAT32 formatted < 2 Gb).
DO NOT MAKE anything etc. ONLY COPY
    3. Remove battery, adapter (power cord) , mouse etc.
    4. Attach USB flash stick (try with the lower left slot at first)
    5. Hold down <CTRL> + <Home>
    6. Plug In the Ac Power adapter, wait about 3-5 secs
    7. Press the power button
    8. Wait 3-5 sec and now release the buttons <CTRL> and <Home>.
    9. The screen of the built-in BIOS flash utility appears and the BIOS will be restored.
It took about 2-5 minutes and notebook powered down itself.......

(In case the recovery procedure fails, Insert the USB stick to the other port and repeat the procedure.)

    Good luck.
