Installed the modded Bios file from DOS. The Windows 7 Ultimate is now asking for activation. Prior to the 2001 ROM install, the system was running a modded 1501 BIOS file, and all was well.

Reverted the BIOS to the 1501 modded file, and W7U is reported as activeated and genuine. Any ideas or thoughts?

Set the 1501 Bios to defaults, reinstalled the Slic 2.1 modded Bios from the DOS utility, and everything is back to normal. I don't know exactly what I did wrong on the first attempt, but I'm pleased to report that the provided Slic 2.1 enabled 2001 BIOS file for the ASUS F1A75-V PRO is working like a charm. Thanks!

Many thanks for the quick response and with the mods.

I am not clear about the difference between the mod files and how to know which to use to be able to use my Dell Win7 discs? In one rar file there is a DELLSLIC and a GIGASLIC both in FC file format and in the other RAR file there is a DELLSLIC and GIGASLIC both in FB format? I realise that the mods are for the relevant motherboard as in the rar file name but not sure what the difference between the respective DELLSLIC and GIGASLIC mod files are. I presume the DELLSLIC mod file contains the DELL 2.1 SLIC but what is the GIGASLIC mod file?

I have unzipped the 2 rar files and found the flash utility (FLASHSPI.exe) and assume that I place this utility and the modded BIOS files in the same folder at a Windows command prompt, does this folder have to be a root folder on the C:\drive? Also do I just run the relevant batch file for the modded BIOS version I wish to install?

Apologies for the basic questions but the last time I did one of these was a couple of years ago using AFUDOS and I just wish to avoid bricking the motherboard

    Thx

Flash the 2001 modded bios and post SLIC Toolkit - Advanced tab's screenshot
Maybe you have already installed a Cert and OEM key from a different manufacturer than ASUS ...

You asked biosmod for two different mainboards, Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 and Gigabyte Z68P-DS3

    Original biosfiles:
    mb_bios_ga-z68ap-d3_v2.x_fb.exe
    mb_bios_ga-z68p-ds3_v2.x_fc.exe

xxxxSLIC.FB files are biosmod for ga-z68ap-d3_v2.x board
xxxxSLIC.FC files are biosmod for ga-z68p-ds3_v2.x board

Biosmod MUST be flashed using the provided batch files (GIGAMod.bat and DELLMod.bat) from DOS with the provided Flashspi tool.
AFUDOS tool is for AMI bioses, not AWARD

Sure, I realise I must use the FLASHSPI tool with the bat files, what I want to know is what the difference is betweeen the modded DELLSLIC and the modded GIGASLIC. You have very kindly provided 4 modded BIOS files, 2 modded for each board, DELLSLIC mod & GIGASLIC mod for each board but I do not know what the difference is between them.

I only referred to the AFUDOS to indicate that I was not familiar with the FLASHSPI tool, I do realise I must use the FLASHSPI tool.

For Gigabyte mainboards I usually make a biosmod with Gigabite SLIC 2.1 table, but you asked for a biosmod with DELL SLIC 2.1 table, so I make two different mod, one for you (DELL) and one for people who wants to use the same motherboard's brand as bios SLIC.
I also provided two certificates to be used according to the chosen biosmod.
