Hi guys I have a packard bell istart motherboard which was made by asus it has a vista slic but i want to install win 7 now i have tried to mod the bios myself but when i open the bios file in awdtool 1.52 i get a message saying it has a 2.0 slic, would i like to allow modification, i click yes add the 2.1 slic but when i flash the bios i get an invalid windows licence then drops out, am i right in thinking that this hasn't overwritten the 2.0 slic and just added both 2.0 and 2.1 slics. i have had this before on another packard bell motherboard board - m2ns-nvm/s slic needed 2.1 packard bell/acer bios ver 0204 - according to bios if someone could mod this for me i would be very greatful
hi cabrufalo Welcome TO MDL these guys here will most certainly help you out, If i'm right virtualization will only be enabled in the bios if your CPU has the hardware virtualization instruction set, ie if you are running an amd athlon x2 6000+ then you will not get virtualization, AMD-Virtualizations are only enabled in the phenom x4 and newer cpu's. So which are you currently running hope you find the help you need
I'm using an opteron quadcore socket AM2 CPU it have virtualization technology because in another board I can enable this option on the BIOS, but using ECS mobo this option is not available through the BIOS
