I need of a mod for a Gigabyte GA-MA78GPM-DS2H (rev 1) mb with F6H BIOS. Original PC had an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ CPU and was running Windows XP Pro SP3. Flashed to a newer BIOS (F6H) so I could upgrade to a newer, AMD Phenom X4 965 CPU, and installed Windows 7 OEM Ultimate as the operating system. Operating system will not activate properly because the BIOS doesn't have slic 2.1 in it, so would like the BIOS modded to include slic 2.1, so I'll be able to get Windows 7 properly activated. Since this is installed in a home made PC, does the BIOS Mod have to still use Gigabyte's OEM branding and cert files to pre-activate the OS, .. or can the branding and cert files from another OEM manufacturer be used (such as Dell, HP, etc.)? I do have ASUS and DELL PC's I can transfer the system hardware to if needed. Listed below is the information and links required for BIOS modding requests. Manufacturer: Gigabyte Motherboard Model: GA-MA78GPM-DS2H (rev 1.x) AM2+ Bios Revision: F6H BIOS Type: Award BIOS download Link: **w.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2859#bios RW Everything report download like: **w.mediafire.com/view/lrp3ppbgs70psip/AcpiTbls.rw Thanks, Don
Unlike Intel or newer Asus, you can't permanently mod Gigabyte bioses. You have to request again when a new revision is released.
