Gents, I think I made a big mistake. I remembered the Current Bios was version 204, and 205 was available from the Asus Download Site. Then I was thinking Asus makes you choose the Operating System before it displays the Bios (or any software available there). Even though both the Win 8 and Win 7 have the same release dates, and version numbers, I thought they'd be the same except the SLIC tables. So I decided to download 205 under Win 7 and install as the hardware should be the same. It installed very routinely and I was almost ready to congratulate myself for being so smart, when upon reboot it goes into Bios and won't proceed => no matter how you try to exit. I though a way back would be to re-flash in back to the original or the newer 205 version from Win 8. In Bios, under the Advanced Tab, the first line is : Start Easy Flash - so I tried it and it will go into that mode. It sees the 205 Bios as acceptable but says the build date is too old (Mar 13, 2013) Do you have any thoughts on how to recover from this mess? Any help will be very much appreciated.
It enabled Secure Boot by default!! Well gents I worked my way out of that mess. It really wasn't that the Bios was different but when it's Flashed it enabled Secure Boot by default, and wouldn't move on. Once I set it to disabled it booted just fine to Windows. (Whew!) I think I should leave tweaking Bios to you Gurus. Can anyone please help me and modify this bios to allow Win 7 to be installed?
I beg your pardon for my poor knowledge, but can you please point me to the best way of comparing non modified BIOS please. If it has already been explained here, please just point me to the right link in this forum. I have already tried to search this forum for "Compare BIOS" and the only link I came across did not discuss any method to compare BIOS. Thank you very much for your ongoing help, to both Mods.
