Hi Serg008 Would it be possible for you to re-upload the asus sabertooth x79 (4701) bios, like the one in post #59757. ASUS Sabertooth x79_4701_Asus21_mmtool.rar Any help in this matter would be highly appreciated, you do the community a great service. Thank You.
hi limurphy thanks for your try. but that one is not bootable. system doesnt power up. Thanks ahead Please remove your File as it bricks the board temporaly
Don't touch lenght of modules. You shortened the DsdtAsl at beginning. I gave up with this bios, i have no idea whats causing the wrong SLIC-entry. Work for a real programmer.
No Problem, was fixable. As You, Lutschpuppe and also Me (in the far past ) did some slics it would be cool if we could share our knowledge and find a solution. I guess newer bioses will be more like that one. Would it help if i make the Slictool test with your frist 2 trys also (@Lutschpuppe) Its a pitty that alot of that knowledge got lost with Serg008. I really hope he will just show up here again, at some day. So what would be a good point to start?
ok, so its mostly a space problem (?) and we need to find out what stuff can be removed? if so there is a tool inside the bios called app installer, i guess its quite large 2 to 4 megs at least.
SLICs are backward compatible, which means you can still activate any compatible consumer edition of Windows 7 (or even Vista) with SLIC 2.6.
Would I use the SLIC 2.1 cert file to activate (offline)? If so, then 2.6 sounds great. I have all the 2.1 cert files (xrm-ms) for major OEMs but not for SLIC 2.6. Thank you!
Yes, Dell uses the same certificate for all SLIC variants so far. In case you want to get your hands on the latest dump of community-discovered OEM certificates (and SLIC binaries), then see here.
