Are you POSITIVE that the linked BIOS you supplied is the correct BIOS for your motherboard ? What tool did you use to attempt that flash ? The few other Aopen mods I have done were successfully flashed from DOS with AWDFlash. 911Medic, If you see this, Please add any advice that you can. Thanks.
I flashed it exactly as instructed above (with the extra switches, enabling boot block flashing I guess?) Still no love. I am using the acer.xrm-ms from another post. Does it make any difference that I am trying to activate Win 7 Pro? (with a Win 7 pro key of course).
hello there. i also tryed the aopen ezwin flash and it too also gives me a message saying check crc checksum errorr(005) the bios link i gave is the right one. not sure whats going on here. thanks.
hello agian. i left the pc for a while and tryed it agian and now it worked. not sure what the check sum error was about but i flashed and i have slic 2.1 now. just now to instal win 7. thanks.
Sometimes the checksum error is from the cmos data. A clear of cmos and load defaults will cure what ails ya.... Be sure to clear cmos (manually) and load optimized defaults in bios after all flashes.. Glad you got it working..
Did anyone get a chance to check out the rw report or my slic dump info yet? I decided not to flash the modded bios yet without you guys checking my info first. Thanks for the effort!
Can you refresh me on the situation?? You have a 2.1 SLIC in the bios. It is a reversed SLIC, and if you have the Certificate, it should be activate. Did you dump the slic and cert with the tool?? Did this come with vista?? What is the branding???
I can only say that we will have to change the SLIC to something else, 'till the cert becomes available. Is this phoenix?? It should be possible to change the SLIC table dynamically.
That would be great! That is what i figured could be done, I haven't seen the cert available yet. It is an AMI bios. Hopefully yhe SLIC table can be changed. Thank you for all your help! I included the rw report again if that helps.
