The stock 1.1.4 has at least SLIC 2.0. I have a stock Vostro 220 with Vista activated. Anyway, would be nice to see SLIC for Windows 7 too someday. I was hoping 1.2.0 would have that, but I don't know. Maybe it depends on asset tag? Anyone play with that on a Vostro 220?

    Thanks, 911Medic. :)
    I'm sure yours will work.
I'm just curious if the ISA method with the tool wil also.

Probably will, I am curious also. Did you use the default settings with the tool....

@BlueCity You should not have to change the key..Only the certificate if you need dell SLIC

    Yes, ISA with Default settings.
    PS
I deleted the first 0+2 Mod I did for this board from the server since it obviously didn't work.

Shuttle are one of those "different" bios. You need to be careful with the dynamic and others as they brick easy (or at least lock up). I have seen ISA mods lock up, but never brick. By definition, a brick is not recoverable...

Just be careful with these, and if a previous mod was successful, see if you can open the bios with cbrom and find the method used..

    Thanks,
    Yeah,
I've done a few of these and Used the 0+2 sucessfully for some and ISA sucessfully for others.
    Thanks for the tip.
I will check them with cbrom.

I agree, they have all been successful to some extent. I just figure with the touchy bios go from least invasive to most. Since ISA really doesnt change any bios code it only adds some, this is the logical choice.

ISA hasnt ricked to my knowledge, all others have, as the modules are all changed and resized.

0+2 is really safe, actually. But not as safe as ISA...:D:D

The shuttle mini have SLIC in the ACPITBL.bin, and this poses a problem, dynamic is very dangerous, but the best mod if applied correctly.

You've been doing well, so these are just tips, take them as such..Have you gotten to do many manual mods??? You should try a few just to see what is really happening with the tool...:p;)

I have done some manual mods (unlocking hidden features, adding features, etc) in the past but that was years ago,
so I do have a basic understanding of the process involved.
But like I said it's been a very long time.
So I will do a few in the next few days as a refresher.

    You're right though,
I should have done this one with ISA first, then 0+2 but I just did a few others that ISA failed to Activate so 0+2 was in my head. :)

I really do appreciate any tips that will help me do these mods in the safest manner possible.

And as you've said before Experience is key when doing these,
that's why I defer to you rather than risk a Bad mod whenever I'm a bit unsure.

    As Always,
    Thanks for the advice. :)
