Ok, had to take care of other things first. Ended up reading another part of this thread with an issue similar to mine.

Steps to properly install ASUS Crosshair II Formula BIOS 2202 when using a modded BIOS 2003 (may apply to other BIOS's and boards with EZ Flash as well) follow:

    1) Download the modded 2202 BIOS provided earlier in this thread
    2) Copy it to C:\ AND ALSO to a bootable USB stick
    3) Reboot and go into the BIOS setup
    4) Go over to Tools and pick EZ Flash, then hit Y to confirm going into it
    5) Ignore the warnings about not being able to read a drive (if any appear)
    6) Choose C:\ and then choose the modified BIOS file, it will flash properly (awdflash133 will refuse to flash this or the unmodified version but EZ Flash will do it)
    7) Insert your USB key that has the modded BIOS and reboot.
    8) Press the F8 key when prompted to get to the boot selection menu and choose your USB stick, you will get a DOS prompt
    9) Type "awdflash" with no options and press enter
    10) Type the filename, including the .bin into awdflash
    11) Hit N when prompted to make a backup, then hit Y to flash, and wait about 10 minutes (it checks the BIOS and the file which takes a while and looks like it's doing nothing)
    12) When it's done hit F1 to reboot and go back into Windows

At this point you'll see the Windows in not Genuine stuff in the corner... This is because you were using a DELL SLP and are now on an ASUS one. You have to use the steps in the Windows 7 repository article on this board to deactivate windows, then reactivate it with the ASUS SLP (.XRM-MS) file. I'm not going to give a walkthru for that since there is already a good enough one in the Appendix of that article.

Once you've reactivated it properly, you will no longer see the Windows is not Genuine message and you will see it is showing as activated when you right click Computer and go to Properties. Hope this helps those with the same problems as I had.

EDIT: So in short, thank you to those that do this work to mod the BIOS, and hope this post contributes back to helping you guys out some.

Yes you can, I have no idea why ASUS named that one .bin.
It is an AMI BIOS and usually they are named .rom.
