ok, after having people on here trying to hack my Asus p5kpl-cm bios to be a dell, I tried it my self.

well it killed win7. wouldn't boot and so forth. so i did a clea install. i tried modifying the bios againm, but this time did it as a HP. this time all went well and i didn't get any error messages about the registration. here are some pics, is this right now?

First, when we modify a bios, we are not changing the bios from an ASUS to a DELL or HP or whatever SLIC was intended for it. The Bios is still ASUS and will work only as an ASUS Bios.

Second, a SLIC is a piece of code inserted in a module inside the bios which changes the structure of it in such a way that you can activate Windows as an OEM.

The SLIC does not equal ASUS Bios.

Third, I am glad you were able to activate Windows 7 on your own but I have modified that bios of yours on numerous occasions using DELL and HP and Lenovo and all have been successful in activating Windows 7.
