Dom, Once he gets that bios recovered he needs to post a R/W Everything reeport or Slic Dump Toolkit Advanced Tab Screen to see what RSDT it has. Many of those HP boards use HPQOEM-BPC or HPQOEM-CPC RSDT and you need to use the matching SLIC.bin for it to work properly. The Slic supplied with the AMI and Award Tool is HPQOEM-MPC.
Yeah... it happened with the SSV2 version. I had flashed dynamic yesterday twice without problems but ssv2 went SNAFU. Im down to the 3rd system but no go, laptop wont read the Flash drive, when I get home I will try with an SD Card since I dont have one handy. Will keep you posted
Ok, update me.. Also if you recovered, post a R/W Everything report or Slic Dump Toolkit Advanced Tab Screen, i will look at RSDT . thanks
domatlapuk, Thank you for the quick response to my request for a bios mod. Manufacturer: Gigabyte Motherboard and Model: MA785GM-US2H Rev 1.1 installed, activated, and working very well. excellent work and much appriciated by me.
Ive tried with the SD Card but nothing till now, I dont know if Im doing anything wrong, but I do have several doubts: 1.- I created the bootable flashdrive/SD Card, inserted in the slot and turned it on. In recovery instructions it says to press Ctrl-Home, Im not sure if this is right secuense for this laptop (in this particular KB HOME is shared with the "<" and "cursor left" so I would also need to press the FN key? yes? no?) so there goes my first doubt. Should I press ctrl+fn+home or just ctrl+key. Ive tried both ways and nada. 2.- Do I press these keys and then turn the laptop on while still holding the keys pressed ? again, Ive tried both and nothing 3.- How do you clear the CMOS on a laptop? on a desktop you would usually open the case and pull the clock battery, move some jumpers or the combination off both but I cant seem to find any of the two (Im not a laptop guy, this is my wifes ) Ive been staring at the power LED and short flashing HDD LED for the past hoiurs and Im beginning to get very nervous.... HEEEELLPPPPP....
Can you still access bios setting now? even your sd card is not bootable you can use. Try it, if you made it bootable try to format it again then put the approriate bios and renaming e.g. Rename 12345678.ROM to AMIBOOT.ROM no need to put flash utility like afudos. then try recovery... if when you turn on the system it does not try to access the sd card, press and hold the 'CTRL' and 'HOME' keys at the same time. This will force the system (assuming the 'boot block' isn't corrupted) to access the flopy and look for the AMIBOOT.ROM file. ctrl+Home
