Hi I did that. I downloaded a clean copy of Windows 7 from the links in "Windows 7 Repository". After install I have created two modified bios files and flashed them successfully. SLIC Dump toolkit always comes up with" SLIC table not found" and RW-Everything crashes as soon as you select the "ACPI" information. Just to be sure I redownloaded Award Tool 1.34 from the links in this forum and the only unusual thing is that it comes up with an error when you select the clean unmodified bios. There error is something like "error 6 - arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow" or something similar. It runs OK afterwards though. I have posted this in the sticky too as I think andyp should know that there may be an issue. Here is my log file Version 1.34 bDynamicForce - False iDynamicMethod - -1 bASUSLock - False bSLICSize - True bManualAddress - False lManualAddress - 0 bOEM7Force - False iOEM7Method - -1 bSSV3Force - False iSSV3Method - -1 bOnlySDT - False bCorrectDSDT - True bOEMIDOnly - True bIgnoreWarnings - False bBeforeUTS - False bCorrectWhole - True bPreserveWhole - False bCorrectModules - True bCorrectSB - True bUseLHA - False bRemoveMC - False bPreserveCPUID - False iCPUID - 0 bAlterDSDT - False Original BIOS size 524288 bytes (512K) 10000 Module 6A61BM4C.BIN (5000) Compressed size 79181 Original size 131072 23576 Module awardext.rom (407F) Compressed size 32265 Original size 46640 2B3A7 Module awardeyt.rom (400E) Compressed size 15816 Original size 25680 2F197 Module _EN_CODE.BIN (4029) Compressed size 7720 Original size 16496 30FE7 Module BGROUP.BIN (402A) Compressed size 480 Original size 34816 311ED Module CR17NZ.ROM (4080) Compressed size 36696 Original size 56320 3A16B Module LOGO.BMP (4000) Compressed size 7490 Original size 307980 3BED1 Module NV2PXE.NIC (4086) Compressed size 30061 Original size 65536 43464 Module 376.NIC (4087) Compressed size 30598 Original size 65536 4AC0D Module Live2-1.BMP (4002) Compressed size 418 Original size 6060 4ADD6 Module iSLIC.BIN (4045) Compressed size 374 Original size 374 4AF71 Module ACPITBL.BIN (4003) Compressed size 6891 Original size 18506 Padding pattern is 211 Module 6A61BM4C.BIN has a padding checksum of FFh Module and decompression block checksum is valid (9 - Start 10000 Length 5FFFE) Extra checksum valid First byte (LSB) checksum is valid Second byte (MSB) checksum is valid BIOS image sums to 0 SLIC module size is 374 bytes SLIC module checksum is 0 OEM Activation 2.1 SLIC ISA Method There are no ISA modules ISA module (0) inserted successfully New BIOS written 524288 bytes Extra checksum valid Corrected BIOS written 524288 bytes 10000 Module 6A61BM4C.BIN (5000) Compressed size 79181 Original size 131072 23576 Module awardext.rom (407F) Compressed size 32265 Original size 46640 2B3A7 Module awardeyt.rom (400E) Compressed size 15816 Original size 25680 2F197 Module _EN_CODE.BIN (4029) Compressed size 7720 Original size 16496 30FE7 Module BGROUP.BIN (402A) Compressed size 480 Original size 34816 311ED Module CR17NZ.ROM (4080) Compressed size 36696 Original size 56320 3A16B Module LOGO.BMP (4000) Compressed size 7490 Original size 307980 3BED1 Module NV2PXE.NIC (4086) Compressed size 30061 Original size 65536 43464 Module 376.NIC (4087) Compressed size 30598 Original size 65536 4AC0D Module Live2-1.BMP (4002) Compressed size 418 Original size 6060 4ADD6 Module iSLIC.BIN (4045) Compressed size 374 Original size 374 4AF71 Module ACPITBL.BIN (4003) Compressed size 6891 Original size 18506 4CA83 Module iSLIC.BIN (40A4) Compressed size 822 Original size 1024 Padding pattern is 211 Module 6A61BM4C.BIN has a padding checksum of FFh Module and decompression block checksum is valid (36 - Start 10000 Length 5FFFE) Extra checksum valid First byte (LSB) checksum is valid Second byte (MSB) checksum is valid BIOS image sums to 0 SLIC performed successfully. Thanks for the tip. I just wanted to rule out User Error. The OP still hasn't posted a R/W Report or Slic Dump Toolkit SS. So I wanted him to flash this and post that info so I have solid a starting point.
Thanks for your answer, unfortunately I didn't save the old bios before updating to your modded bios. I did a download of the zip file and I could unpack all of the zip file. (bios, AFUDOS and a batch file) Regards sp-am
The reports aren't necessary for the Award bios, unless there is a possibility of existing SLIC table..The Log seemed solid, the ISA are safer, but not consistent for activation...User error is not likely with the tools and the checks coded into them. The OP is cross posting, and the previous post was a bit clearer..he posted additional info.
Hi. I really appreciate you guys trying to help. I just tried this and get an error "EPA module must follow ACPI module". Any ideas? Junpit
I can do a manual mod..let me see how things play out..check back in a couple hours...There most likely a solution for you..
