pardon me for being noob but which tool did u mean? can u point me some links? im currently using vista 32 bit, already activated with ASUS OEM, i dont know if its matter. like i said, im noob to this, so any help would be much appreciated.
You probably had a Pre_activated Version of Vista which would relpace the BIOS SLIC info after boot up and that is probably why we are seeing SLIC 2.0 instead of 2.1. I did an SSV3 Mod and ippy probably did an SSV2, both of those should work on your PC. So Install a Genuine Un-Modified Copy of Win 7 and then tell us what happens.
ok, i'll do that and post something in later. so what i need to do is (assuming i already have 2.1 slic) instal win 7, instal oem certificate (included in rar file) and then slp key right? and that ought to make my 7 activated, right? CMIIW. well, cant wait to instal 7, thanks mate, you've been most helpfull, never had so fast respons in any other forums. gr8 forum cheers.
As long as that BIOS does have SLIC 2.1 (which I think it does) those steps are correct. Install Win 7 (NOT Pre-Activated and NOT Enterprise), Certificate and OEM SLP Key and it should be Activated.
I have same issue with ASUS K42F. Slic dump says "SLIC table not found". I tried to patch whith phoenixtool. After that SLIC appears, but markers became "NoteboNotebook" instead of "_ASUS_Notebook" (in original firmware markers where "_ASUS__ASUS_").
