    Thanks for your reply. I tried doing as you said, I used the HP Utility to make a bootable Windows98SE boot disk out of an old 32MB SD Card, and it booted fine but Aflash2 though told me that /All was an invalid switch. I'm using AFLASH2 that is on the ASUS website as a download attached to my laptop's BIOS downloads, it says it was modified 13/11/07. I did the flash without that switch and when I booted up again it stills says DELL_QA09 rather than ASUS SLIC. Is it safe to use another version or aflash2 or is there something else to try or...?

    Bootsect.exe /nt60 all /force eliminated the SLIC ! Yahooo!!!! :) - Reflashing the BIOS with the ASUS mod right now :)

    Em.. nor Everest nor SLIC dump toolkit shows slic in this bios (at least in that one that is inside my laptop currently) - and this rom version was dumped from it.. can't figure it out..
