Did you use any cracks, patches, bios emulators or any other such gimmicks to activate windows prior to flashing your bios with the new modified version?
Nope, but I flashed my BIOS first and then formated my HD and then installed the OS. Oddly, Vista still claimed that it was activated when I first flashed it, before I started Win7 installation. I did what you said with no switches, and I got these error messages. AFU236U said, "ASF Signature not found". AWDFLASH said, "Downgrade not possible".
Great but where is the information of what you modified? We would like to see it....it is hard goiing through page after page to find you.
OK, I figured out my problem. The old bios was causing a problem flashing to the new bios, somehow. What I did was I downloaded the original bios and then flashed using the built in EZ Flash 2. I know it's horrible, but it works. After that I went back into DOS with my USB stick, and used AWDFLASH. Some reason AFU236U doesn't like to work. And yes, I didn't use switches. Making this aware for Asus M2A-VM owners who were using the same previous bios for Vista.
Wow, that was fast, will let you know the results shortly (I hope ). Activated as per instructions, worked perfectly. Thanks!
