From what i see lately a lot of Gigabyte's bioses are done with the OEM7 or FACS method. Is it any better than the SSV3 method that was used so far?
The Newest Bios Versions Released by Gigabyte Do NOT have an epa Module so SSV3 doesn't work on those. I would absolutely still use SSV3 on any Gigabyte Bios that has the epa module.
I'm asking this because yesterday i patched my 1st bios for my GA-M720-US3 rev. 1.0 Gigabyte mobo (F6 bios ver.) that was already done here. There is also an F7k beta bios so how can i tell if it has or not the EPA module. I'm using the latest 1.44 awardtool. Is it going to tell me anything about it if i have select SSV3 and the bios does not have the EPA module? Thanks.
When you Click on GO, the SLIC tool will attempt the SSV3 Mod. If there is No epa module it will Fail and a popup will say something about no epa Module. If that happens, you can use OEM7 and in the advanced options check the OEM7 Options ... force ... ACPITBL at end option. Or you can try FACS Method.
