    Genuine Windows Key Required
If you choose to activate Vista via Telephone method you can keep the Confirmation ID numbers for later use ;)

    > Install Vista.
    > * Install all your hardware drivers *
    > Disconnect from internet
    > Select "change product key"
    > Enter your Genuine Windows key
    > Select Telephone Activation
    > Phone Micro$oft
    > Give Installation ID numbers
    > Enter the Confirmation ID numbers (copy them !) you receive on the phone
    > Activate

With the Confirmation ID Numbers you can activate your Vista anytime you need using phone method.

This will not work after major hardware changes. Differant hardware generates a differant Installation ID number.

    These commands are handy:

    C:\Windows\System32\slmgr.vbs -dti
Display Installation ID for offline activation

    C:\Windows\System32\slmgr.vbs -atp <Confirmation ID>
Activate product with user-provided Confirmation ID (numbers from Microsoft)

Tested on Vista Enterprise SP1, should work with all Vista and probably XP

Some other people in this forum are interested in backing up their activation. This forum is not exclusive to modifying bioses. Some methods are for proof of concept. This method does not RELY on Micro$oft to use your software. < Very Handy !
Thanks, and I hope this is clearer for you now ...........
