I updated my BIOS the other day and it ended in a bad flash. HP didn't care; they want $150. I can boot into DOS but Windows crashes. Anyway, I got the latest AMI flash utility, but it's a manufacturer specific BIOS. I downloaded the flasher from HP and extracted it, but for some reason there's not a BIOS in the archive. A friend of mine has a laptop identical to mine; we bought them at the same time and I got a backup of his ROM. So I have options. Where should I start? How can I fix this?
