Does it make any sense that the original .iso works burned onto a dual layer but only after using johnye_pt's batch to convert it to .esd I get this error?

Could you advise me what the correct ei.cfg would be?

    I've edited my former post.

I don't use any ei.cfg in my 10 releases but this one should be okay, i tried it on an iso and it upgraded without any problems.

    Code:
    [Channel]
    _Default

    [VL]
    0

Tried it, same error. It's not a big deal as I can still use the original .iso. I just don't understand why putting it through the batch caused this problem where it hasn't happened with any other .iso that went through the same process. If you think of anything let me know. Appreciate your help!

Sorry i didn't take a look at the batch. I update only the Home index and i offline upgrade it to pro, education and enterprise and export all indexes to 1 install.esd/swm/wim and i put the install.esd/swm/wim's in the mct x86/x64 iso and i'm done (i don't mind it being dvd9/usb only in size as long as it's both eufi and legacy bios bootable) :D

Maybe the OP can help you with this problem?

Which Windows were you trying to upgrade from? I tested the ISO on VirtualBox running Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium x86 and the only difference to the original ISO setup was a window to select between Windows 10 Home x86 and Windows 10 Home x64. I did try a few keys (found on Google) during ISO boot to see if the installer only showed the correspondent version and it showed me a similar error, don't know if they were valid or not.

I was just testing it out on 7 Ultimate just to see whether it would work. No problems upgrading at all with the new .isos we've produced from the Media Creation Tool (MCT) download--it was just that aio .iso of th1 I discussed yesterday. Actually it's a torrent I got that murphy78 uploaded 8/02/15 named 'Microsoft Windows 10 GA AIO DualBoot en-US murphy78' (v.1, there was a v.2 a couple weeks later but I don't see it now). You can just search his stuff on the pirate bay site if you want to get a look at it. Like I said I had no error on our MCT versions running an upgrade attempt on the same 7 Ultimate. I also tried our same MCT .iso on my laptop that has Home and it works fine without the error there either. If you got to the window with the two choices that's past where the error would occur and if you went further it would almost certainly upgrade without any key being entered. Those keys you tried are probably invalid so that would explain the error you got. No big deal; as I said, the original th1 torrent (8GB on a DVD9) doesn't give the error, so it's probably something specific in that .iso after it was changed to an .esd that is causing it. Thanks!

Yes, Still murphy78 v2 torrent (30in1 10240) is available in live which is same method boot (Both) as v1. I am studying for how to remount index, BCD edit, and Setup or final ISO create with riskless MBR-UEFI work and upgradable for my own homebrew.

Been looking all over for a program that will burn the .isos made with the batch to USB and take up the same space as they take up on a DVD. If UltraISO, PowerISO and ImgBurn will do this there must be some way that the same can be done with a USB burn. Had a few false positives, where it looked like the program would do it, but turned up negative in the end. Maybe has to be created but seems that it should be possible since the support is already there in the ISO programs.

That feature is only available to DVD's. You can't "burn" ISO to USB but extract. Some tools let you mount the ISO from USB...

Actually, you can. Format command supports /FS:UDF. I'm gonna have a play...

Not sure what you mean. This thread has a guide and a batch file that gives the ability to fit a normally 7GB DVD onto a 4.37GB DVD. Wanted to get the same size onto a USB. What does the format option have to do with that?

Well the ISO created is UDF v1.02. Without this you can't boot UEFI. I'm also thinking the UDF format also provides the file Optimization so it does shrink from 7GB to 4.37GB. I know there's a guide & batch file. Your point?

Could you advise how to get the contents of an .iso made by the batch file onto a USB drive and still take up under 4.37GB of space like it does on a DVD?

For bootable usb the iso filesystem doesn't matter at all. I just format the usb FAT32 and copy over the files from the workfolder (no iso involved) or i unpack the iso to the usb drive. When you use usb does the size really matter (max 32 GB for FAT32 format)?.

The ISO should be able to boot in both MBR and UEFI systems, since it includes the same -bootdata parameter used in MSDN ISOs. I say "should" because I haven't tested it on a UEFI system nor on Virtualbox, but I think someone else already confirmed it earlier.

If the flash drive uses NTFS, you should be able to create a hard link from one install.esd to another. That way there is only one file, but "linked" from both folders.

I tried that last time you suggested it but when I asked for a hard link it gave some sort of error. The only thing it would complete was a symbolic link. Could you give me a command line to type that might work? Thanks again!
