Hey all, If you work in retail you know its the big deal season. This year getting the craptel board is optional (yay), the board is the DP55WG for 109US. The question for the forum is which board to get for a Intel® Core™ i7 860? The Minimum requirments are: Can Be made SLIC 2.1 OC and UC able. 1 G2 PCIe X16. (for video) 1 PCIe X8 (signal). (for raid card) 1 PCI 3.2 (for legacy cards) Preferred minimum: Can Be made SLIC 2.1 OC and UC enhanced with windows management app. 2 G2 PCIe X16. 1 PCIe X8 (signal). 1 PCIe 1X 1 PCI 3.2 32 66MHZ Integrated video (for when the board is retired to a legacy app) Also does any one know if a SLIC 2.1 BIOS is available for the HP XW6600 and Intel DG33TL? Thank you. Merry X
Use an Acer P55 Motherboard with an Intel Core i5 or i7 870 - its better, it has more features and the difference in the price is small(Around 10$-20$) but i5 heats too much, you have to get a decent cooler: here are my specs(i use 'em) Asus P55 Intel Core i5 ATI Radeon 5570 <<(cheap and perfect) Segabyte 1.5TB SATA2 HDD LG DVD+/-R/RW with SecurDisk and LightScribe DLink Wireless Card Titan Liquid Nitrogen Cooler(120 Watts) 4GB RAM
canouna Please read the whole post and not just the title. I felt It belonged here due to the key need is a board that can be made easily and permanently SLIC 2.1. Luca Have you been able to SLIC the board? And if so is it a hack BOIS or a natural badge? AKA if you download a update does the SLIC explode. Any Mod Please update the title of the thread to "Best I5/I7 System Board for SLIC 2.1" I tried to edit it and it will not let me. Thank you
