Hello

I modified the file shell32.dll in System32 and Syswow64 (and deleted cache icons), but I have no change (even if I reboot)

Why?

Right now I'm using a combination of Rainmeter and ObjectDock with Windows 8; removed the Taskbar from the Desktop, added commonly-used programs and other tools to the Desktop itself (using this Rainmeter skin, with a few modifications: ) and added active programs and the notification area to docks placed on top of the Rainmeter skin. Oddly enough, getting rid of the Taskbar seemed to make the switch between the Desktop and the Start Screen a bit smoother since they both have the fullscreen look now.

Hi,
Did you manage to get rid of the taskbar permanently? I've seen programs like the Taskbar Eliminator which only manage to do it every startup. If you know of a way to get rid of the taskbar without having to run something at each startup, I'd really appreciate hearing about it.
