Hello, After having failed in updating my Sony Vaio VGN-SR 510 Bios, I’ve got someone to remove the ROM and try to reflash in a EEPROM programmer, but I’ll need the bin file… Could anyone tell me how do I get the bin version of this file? Thanks.
might have to get the rom from the download, then on most cases have to cut platform data.. depending on bios type. best thing to do is make a backup.bin then use a hexeditor to compare to the bios dloaded. did u try the usb recovery methods first ?? (it all depends if bootblock is good or not)
Thanks LatinMcG. The question is: Where to find the file for download? My EEPRON was completely erased, so the startup process just can't find any peripheral device. Is it possible to so something through USB in this case?
chip was not erased completely. just corrupted some of it. yes USB bios recovery can be done most times i believe u need CRISDISK or WINCRIS and the bios file. bootblock bios recovery.
