Hi, today i found out, that my notebook Acer TM6592 bios already contains a acer slic 2.0. It is in the BIOSCOD01.ROM. But it is kind of hidden. It won't activate Vista and the slicdumper didn't see it, too. Also Everest sees no slic. But it in the Bios. Does somebody know, how to unhide it? Obelix
Interesting , as ive noticed this quite a lot when ive been attemping to upgrade SLICS to 2.1 in phoenix bioses Can anyone shed some light on what to do here to perform the mod?
Hi 911medic yes i know , the only thing is its not as easy as when the extracted ACPI.rom is exactly 374 bytes long lol Can you guide me through? Thanks 1234s282
Not without seeing the bios. I would tell you to find the slic table, rename it to TEST and then add another SLIC..It really is not difficult, but I would trust PBE to cause trouble..
ye but thats where the problem is in al my other phoenix mods , the SLIC table , when extracted , has been a single 374 byte file on its own which you just replace with the SLIC your after. This SLIC is in the middle of a smaller file , so somethings not quite right!
It how most of them are. You just lucked out with the others. You have to add the slic as an acpi*.rom file..It is the same as adding a slic to a bios without after you cancel the existing slic..
Thanks for the file, but you get me wrong. I have already modded my bios. My point was, that the bios already contains a slic, which is not usable. I think this is a little strange, ins't it? Obelix
I dont think so. I have seen acer bios with gateway slics in them along side acer slics. I think they may use them for compression...
