    Hello everyone,

I have a Gateway SX2800 with the motherboard Gateway WG43M.

The BIOS says it's AMI's and is the P01-A0 version, which is designated for Gateway.

I believe that the BIOS or CMOS is bad, It's strange that sometime it works sometime it does not (not recognized graphic card and/or other devices, very random).

I could not find the update on Gateway website.

Anyone can suggest me where and how can i find the BIOS update or somehow fix the problem?

The SX2800/DX4300 were built on a mobile platform due to size constraints in such a small space, as is common with small form factor "Desktops" nowadays. The ICH8 (HBM) Southbridge in the unit is most likely at fault. Find a shop that can Reflow the BGA for you, or replace the board.
