You could try an doing an SSV or SSV2 Mod and see if that works for you.
I know the one I did was an SSV3 mod.

But it's clear to me i need to get a new ups, since a 550w ups (2years old) is cutting it a bit short i guess...

Strange, cause it's been running on this same system needs for over a year without a hitch. I guess the capacitators has aged a little...

Actually, if NoJuan's suggestion does not help me then yes, I am gonna abandon bios mods. I really do not need them anymore anyway because I have a genuine Pro MAK key mate.

In my case I got it from my grandparents because of my grandpa's work. I know there is a leaked one somewhere on google but I do not know how many activations are left if at all.

just my 2 cents, I have a Asus p5b-vm hdmi, I think that is the model number, I had that problem, it suddenly appeared after a long time... I solved it first by removing the overclocking until I could buy better ram. Now it runs fine overclocked moderately with better ram....

Well, I just spent an hour and a half stripping and cleaning the case. You just can't believe the dust that gathers in a pc-casing. Big chunky flocks the size of my n**ts !

Cleaned everything from the case to cpu sb and nb coolers, the big 300mm fan, the expansion cards graphics card etc.

Also stripped some expansion cards i don't use anymore, like an extra soundcard, extra lan and one hdd that i had set up over the network for my wife but doesn't use it anyway..

Put it back together, and it seems the issue is gone. It booted up smoothly, no hickups...but i'll have to wait it out a week or so, to if the issue re-emerges.

Thanx for all the replies, and should the problem return, then i'll definitely look through this thread again to digg deeper into the situation.

    Sincerely
