This is not the case for everyone or every case but .....

Ensure you have "Software Protection" Enabled and Running ..

Otherwise the "Windows is Not Genuine" watermark will appear on your Desktop

first try to reactivate it online. then try a different key and then reactivate. this happened to a freind of mine and for whatever reason a different lic key worked even though the key he was using was the acer ultimate key so i know it was not blacklisted. lastly you can try a rearm if ness but i dont like doing it that way personally then you end up with rearm count 2.

somehow, one of my machines only got a WAT update yesterday! and it ruined the offline ACTv.

i tried the ms....com/genuine first which failed.
then after that, i removed the cert and key.
readded the same cert with another key.
rebooted, which it still didnt work.

oddly enough, after going into programs and features, and removing the update from yesterday, then restarting and going back to the ms...com/genuine site and downloading and running the Activation tech executable from there, its now reporting all perfectly again.

I has me baffled why the Windows automatic update from yesterday would ruin it, but the newest update from the genuine page after removing yesterdays update would make it all good again :confused::(
