    Replaced screen on an acer aspire one happy (aohappy pav70), after which the netbook fails to boot at all.
    After much research online this appears to be a common problem with acer aspire one's, resulting in a need to flash the bios to be able to boot again.
    There are many tutorials for accessing the bootblock to run a crisis disk across the system but not for this specific model. Most include downloading the bios from acer, copying the .fd files and flashi.exe files to a flash drive, then using the Fn and Esc button whilst turning the system on to start the crisis procedure for flashing the bios. This does not appear to work on this model so am looking for some help.

    Hello, new to the forum. Just bumping this guy's thread since it's pretty recent, and I'm actually in need of the "Crisis Disk" for this model as well. The laptop was working perfectly fine, bought it to resale it. The battery died out on me, plugged it back in to finish installing the windows update, and I was instantly prompted with an HD Lock password...
    Now, when I attempt to enter the bios to even just try to get an idea what's going on, I'm greeted with a password... I've never set a password on this. When I originally bought the laptop, I had to change the boot order in order to boot to my USB and install windows 7.... No password.

    I'm not sure if I can go about my typical method of bypassing the bios on this one, because from what I've read recently, newer model laptops are storing it in the EEPROM? and the pin shorting method doesn't work? ---
    Lol. I probably should of posted a separate topic- but essentially I need the same thing as OP.

    @LatinMcG

    Hi LatinMcG

    It has been noted that the changing of name to zg5ia32.fd does not work on this model....It has a different bios to a110 and a150.
    It has the same bios as the d255 which is PAV70D3, for the ddr3 version (pav70d2 for ddr2).
    Also with the Fn Esc I never get the power button blinking....it just stays solid with the fan running but nothing else.
    Any help gratefully received.

    @LatinMcG

    Thanks for the link...I have been through the process for the usb stick recovery listed on that manual but never get flashing read signal regardless of which stick I use.
    I have used 4 ranging from 128mb to 8 gb.
    Do you think I would have more joy with a usb floppy???

    Unfortunately I do not have a usb floppy drive to be able to create the crisis disk...you think this may be the only way for me?

    it states copy the xxxxx.wph file for using crisis disk....I can only find the .fd file.
    What do I need to do to get the .wph file?

    Well, have seen this post and i have the same problem as you! I replaced the broken screen on my acer one happy pv70 and it wont boot anymore.

    Have you solved your problem? If yes can you send me the right tips.

    I also try the FN+ESC solution but aparently don“t work in this model.

    Its oaround 9 months im still trying to figure how this works ..... i dont have a crisis disk , i mean i tried , but do-sent works ...

    so i kept my laptop for sometime.. like 30 days untouched, i took out a press the power button. suddenly the screen flashes and enterd the bios screen..
    becose i havent modified or changed the bios. i forgot dat my hard was out & unformatted, ,,,,,, the screen got froze and again im back to squre one

    this happened 4 times ... and last night ... 7th february 2013 , when i started it worked fine... bios have no problem ..
    up to which NO OPERATING SYSTEM FOUND ... the lap was workin fine
    so i restarted it to intall windows7
    again i got unlucky....

    so what i did was i intalled basic windows 7 to a new harddisk . & plugged it in the D255... . i am hoping next time when i get lucky its gona work ....
