Problem with Sony Vaio TX5XN Laptop Hello Guys I have been searching for solution for my laptop and came here, like all of us there is obvious BIOS update caused all our trouble, I did it as well and stopped due to electricity shortage Next time I tried to boot only I got was black screen and power button light up as well, I heard CD trying to spin and that's it I tried already all shortcut used with Crisis Recovery of Pheonix Bios (Fn+B, Fn+Esc, Win+B, Win+Esc, Win+R ) and nothing seems to be working, I used all techniques with USB Floppy Disk, which appear to work whatever combination I am using, but I am suspecting that Vaio did not get into Crisis Recovery Mode at all, there is no beeps, there is no power button colours change, laptop did not restart at all, even after waiting when I am booting back it seems be dead still. If there is any hope for my lappy? Was very expensive piece of machine, I don't want to invest for costly motherboard, I saw them at least for 300 UK pounds Just wonder if you can help me guys maybe some of you passed by any sony vaio's dead bios laptops? Maybe Crisis Mode is started using different key combination? Let me know please, Any Help would greatly appreciated
hi petar and other experts I hope being the expert you are you might be able to help.. I will start from the start.. I have an Acer Travelmate 6460 (Acer travelmate 6465WLMi) I did flash with a PBE rebuilt bios. My pc now loads, posts initial screen but halts with blank screen (looks be be some background light as apposed to off/blank) I have tried what I would guess as 100 different crisis disk recovery options/ways I suspect Fn+ESC is the keys used. I say this because when I hold they keys, put the power on and press power the power light lights up briefly, turns off and about a second or 2 later the lappy starts to boot. I have read on numerous forums you can basically test that CRM is working without flashing. It should boot into CRM mode which would let you know it worked.. Every time I have tried I get my floppy to react for only about 3 seconds. This is also the same amount of time it reacts if I just press power on and let it run through its start up procedure.. It would seem to me I cant get the laptop in crisis recovery mode. I'm not entirely sure if there is something I should be seeing so I know its in CRM.. I pride myself on being able to work out or find every possible solution before asking for assistance, but I'm lost right now.. I even went so far as trying a different sites crisdisk option which involved a 10MB Fat partition, pure DOS and a bootdisk making the disk 8-9 times because some people said a certain PHLASH16.exe works and others did not.. I would really appreciate any assistance.. I find it hard to believe that this laptop is dead if I can turn it on, access the bios with F2, change settings and generally see activity. 1 side note. I noticed as some point during this UUID and Serial Number went from correct details to 1234567- and UUID 0000000- Thank you
Same here. Samsung Q1 UMPC tablet with no keyboard to interact with Phoenix BIOS. Tried button combinations and there are no success to boot the floppy. Tried USB keyboard, but it's not initialized by recovery bios. Opened up and noticed a debug port, but have no connector. I got the service manual and it says to ground pin R219 on the 82801FBM chipset to enable Crisis mode. The problem is I can't find this pin.
If my bios file is not fit in a floppy disk and the usb stick, cd method is not applicable. What should i do? Is there anyway to unzip bios to ramdisk and let crisdisk know this is the bios file for restoration?
Acer Travelmate 6460 (Acer travelmate 6465WLMi) Fixed After frustration after frustration I finally tried my own key combo.. Power plugged in I decided to hold down all the key combinations I had read about.. I held down Fn+Esc+Winkey+Home+Del and the Wincris in Windows XP created crisis disk loaded, read for approx 2min.. 3min later laptop shutdown.. I pressed power and the system loaded..
Hi I'm in trouble right now... 'bout 2 weeks ago i've tried to upgrade my bios but that laptop crashed during the process... i waited about 2 hours to see if it reboot it self, but nothing happend... in a stoke of despair i've removed the batery and unpluged de AC cord from it... It's been dead since... I press the power button, some lights turn on, i hear the fan working but on the screen there's nothing... Since than i've been reading all Bios Recovery related info on the web... even bought an external floppy drive... Tried to recover my bios, but Floppy has no activity... i believe that FN+B and WinKey+B are not working for me... Also tried FN+R and WinKey+R... and FN+F and WinKey+F... both didn't work... My laptop is a HP DV6000 series dv6179ea model. Any tips on key combinations for this laptop? Can someone who have some laptop similar to mine and has sucessfully recovered from a similar situation give me some tips??? please.... I'm about to enter the "raging maniac" fase... Any reply is welcome Se7eN
recovering password for bios OK i need some serious help. I have missed placed my password for my bios on my laptop. I have an acer laptop. So it is not seeing it. How do I solve this anyone please.
Has anyone been successful in recovering their BIOS with the Award method? The bootblock was set to disable before I flashed the BIOS and I think I might have messed it up permanently. From what I've read if the bootblock is corrupted, the BIOS is irrecoverable. I hope I can get it going again. If I don't, I'll have to get her a new motherboard. I shouldn't fret over this as much as I am. After all, stressing myself over material things isn't good.
Hello, Anyone has an ideea how to make a "lite" boot disk in order to put all the files on the same disk... i don't have space left after creating the disk to put the .bin file of the bios .... ?
