Hi, I wonder if anyone could help with my "semi - bricked" HP board please? After a bad modded bios flash it says "cmos checksum error-defaults loaded" then gives you the option to press F1 to continue or F10 to enter setup..... either takes you to a blank screen (onboard graphics) or a blinking cursor (pci-e board). I have tried everything i have found on this thread and most of google. It is a HP DX2250 with a ms-7297 motherboard which has a Award Phoenix 6.00g bios. the chip is soldered in <grrrrrrrrr> i have even tried corrupting it more by shorting the pins.... but nothing seems to change it! Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated! TIA Dave
Thanks for the reply! but as i have said i have tried all the recvovery options in this thread. Cheers, Dave

HP Compaq 2210b Bios hi! my laptop was played with my sister and she accidentally put on a Start up bios password.... I tried unplugging the cmos battery on the laptop motherboard but still the password is there... please help me reset my bios power on password. Sorry but im just not that techie and im just wanting to get my 2210b laptop running again... thank you so much in advance....
The recovery can be made using Floppy, USB and CD/DVD. As far as I know, the methods that are available to you will depend on manufacturer settings. For instance, in my case, my BIOS only allows CD/DVD recovery (laptop).
Toshiba NB100-12A Hi, I have a netbook Toshiba NB100-12A and a friend of mine have bricked it when after a WindowsUpdate closed the lid before the finish of update instalation. What can I do now? I am read this thread and nothing is mentioned about NB100 BIOS recovery .
hi there..i just want to ask this question..i got toshiba a135 s2276 laptop..here is what i did.... 1..i download the wrong bios to my system..and i flashed right away with that wrong bios...when i flashed that bios with wrong setup..my mouse got frozen..and i unplug the power cord from the laptop..and plug back in..i was trying to power on..but all parts working..such as..hard drive..cd rom..cpu fan is workin..but the only one that is not working is...SCREEN..screen stays back..so i was plugging the external monitor to the laptop..and it doesn't work..so is there any way..to get this laptop working..or any files that can be working on the laptop to get him back to life...and tell me where i can find those files..thanks
dadi26, you should read the first page... If your screen is blank it means you have no POST and if the PC is trying to boot you may have luck on recovering it. For what I was able to find you have a Phoenix BIOS so you need to follow those instructions on first page. Good Luck.
Your laptop wont be bricked just you windows has probably been corrupted try booting into safe mode and try system restore.
Hi, I have a HP G60-100EM Laptop to fix for a friend and it seems the bios is corrupt, I have had it booting so that the power LEDs are flashing by holding FN+F but it dosn't attempt to read from my USB floppy drive or USB stick. All it tries to read is the cd-rom but then just sits there with the power LEDs flashing and does nothing else. I did leave it on one day and came back and the laptop was on the boot screen saying the bios is corrupt press F1 to continue. Which I did and windows booted up fine. So I rebooted and its back to the same blank screen. Any help greatly appreciated
Thanks for the reply Urie. Allow me to explain why my netbook is a brick: When I press the power button nothing happened than green LED is lit and CPU fan works. I had a similar situation with a AAO150 that I repaired following the advice of the macle's. But with this Toshiba NB100 I have no solution . I tried combinations of buttons, I put the bios files on USB floppy or stick-memory ... nothing!
fair enough there may be a hardware problem but i don't understand why you think it is the bios when you never flashed it i.e. bad bios flash.
