Thank you so much!!! With your version of crisis disk and a phlash16 found on the internet, I was able to get my computer to read the usb stick. After 3 minutes it just shutdown and now its back to life! Very grateful to kizwan Anyone with a toshiba L500 (European Version) that need help reflashing Phoenix Bios feel free to sende me a PM
I'm glad it finally work for you. Does the Fn+F is the right hotkey for you? What version of phlash16.exe did you use?
Hi jovisaru, For Dell notebooks, the hotkey will be the "End" key. You can follow the procedure I wrote on previous post. Just change the hotkey to "End" key. The BIOS filename should be BIOS.WPH. Good luck.
Thanks for respons, but seems nothin work. i tried 2 different methods downlaoded dell vostro bios driver. (.exe file) used command /writeromfile, /writehdr file to get rom and hdr files put directly both files to usb drive, put usb to not working pc, removed batter, pressed end, while holding end, inserted power adapter, but nothing happens at all, laptop do not even turn on, when i turn my laptop by pressing turn on it do not take any data from usb as well. another method i tried it this crisis disk. downloaded cris disk, same as you. extracted to folder. renamed .mod bios file to be BIOS.WPH, copied to that folder where cris disk files exist. and made USB flash disk. this gives no result as well, data is not even tired to be start to read, coputer do nto turn, if i turn mannually - nothink happens. Maybe cd recovery shoukld be used with Vostro 3700 models?
Do you mean, you Vostro doesn't turned ON at all? No power at all? No light from LED indicator? If this is the case, I'm afraid you can't do BIOS recovery since it doesn't turned ON at all.
IT turn on when i press power button (cd-rom seems to work as well), but just black screen and cooler is working. But according to instructions i need to press END button (wiith battery removed) then conect to power supply and then laptop should turn on by itself. this not happenenig.
What happen if you do like this:- 1) Disconnect battery & power cord 2) Press End key. While holding End key, plugged in the power cord to your notebook. Don't release End key yet. 3) Press the power button. Don't release End key yet. Does your notebook powered on if you follow this instruction?
Yes i have tried as you writed there as well. I hold down end key, nothing happen, then i turn power button and laptop turns on, but nothing happens - no led lights on USB as a signal that it started t odo anything.
just tried with the version you have placed : v1.7.0.18 -same result- seems that system even do not start to take anything from USB. Maybe there is way to recover bios from CD?
just tried, recorded bios.whp (renamed 3700_a09.rom file) flash16.exe and minidos.sys to CD- same result nothing happnes.
i wil ltry to make bootable cd now. i will taje MagicISO to create a floppy image with the BIOS file i will use for recovery. which bios file to use? 3700_a09.rom or rename it to BIOS.WPH and use BIOS.WPH
I just double check the CRISIS package I gave you earlier & I found the phlash16.exe in it is actually Phlash16_v1.6.9.5. Can you give me the link to the Phlash16_v1.6.9.5 you use in the BIOS recovery?
