i have tried this phlash16 v1.7.0.18 as well, but no result, i think i will create botable cd, but which file to use .mod or whl?
If Pheonix BIOS, use .WPH or .ROM file. If you have both file (.WPH & .ROM), use .WPH file. The BIOS filename for BIOS recovery should be BIOS.WPH. This mean you need to rename the .WPH or .ROM file to BIOS.WPH. Other BIOS brand, for example Award or Insyde BIOS, the BIOS filename is a bit different.

Hello Everyone; I have a toshiba x205-sli1 laptop with I believe a israa bios. I loaded the Daz loader bios mod to activate windows 7 on my second hard drive ( my laptop has two hard drives in it ) I have windows vista on my main hard drive and it somehow kicked out my original bios and when I restarted my computer and booted to vista, which came with my computer, windows said that I had to activate immediately. I didn't understand why so I ended up attempting to do a recovery from my recovery disc's which also came with my computer and now the recovery disc's don't work and my dvd rw drive keeps disappearing from my computer and I have to restart my computer or use an application ( Matts_run dvd.exe ) in order to get it to show back up in My Computer. Even though it does come back, in just a few minutes it will disappear again. My question is can this be fixed ? I had tried going on the internet to find a resolution and tried everything, deleting upperfilters and lowerfilters which was the #1 solution etc. with no success. I'm at the point where I'm begging for help..... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated !!!!!
Yes, it is. And very useful, as I was tinkering with my Acer 7720, took out an old 80 GB I was using as a secondary drive, threw in a new 7200 rpm 320 GB as my primary, and moved over the stock 250 GB. I also blew out what little dust was in the cooler. Tried to boot it up, power light came on, HD light flashed for a second, and it just sat there. I already knew about this thread, thankfully, as I had been running an unlocked BIOS. I was not able to get it to flash off the USB stick, but noticed while it was running that it kept checking the DVD drive every 20 seconds or so. I ended up just throwing the BIOS I was using on a CD and it found it just fine from there. Basically, all I can say is that I owe the OP a beer or six... Thank you very much!
Need some help with Lenovo S12 (VIA). I tried to update BIOS with SLIC 2.1 and used mod created by imatrix (h__p://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/5866-LENOVO-(IBM)-Bioses-especially-Thinkpad./page107?highlight=T400). Notebook failed to boot. I have read (thoroughly) several threads on Phoenix BIOS recovery. Now I have a USB FDD and a Crisis Disk. BIOS switches to recovery mode as described in the first post of the thread (the only difference: you need to press Fn + R to activate it). So we come to the problem: I need a .wph file. The BIOS image is in .exe, and the only one in the whole world who had managed to extract .wph from it is Yen. I wrote him a PM but he hasn't answered it yet. Could somebody extract the .wph for me one more time, please? Original firmware is here: h__p://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_show_1506.html# .
You can allso put a AMIBOOT.rom on an empty flashdisk / mp3player (have not tested with more than just the AMIBOOT.rom file on it) Plug it in, see that it transfers some files and it will reboot it self when done (30sek - 2min) depending on system
Oh, it seems I answer myself too. So, Lenovo S12 was a brick after unsuccessful SLIC mod. Reflashing with firmware 20CN23WW was possible. 1. Extracting WPH. Hex editor is neccessary. 2. Creating a crisis disk. USB-stick didn't work. USB-floppy did. All that was needed is to copy a WPH file. 3. S12 does not understand standard hotkeys. Now I know that it wants Fn + R to be pressed during power up (not Fn + B etc.). If everything is ok, the notebook will beep loudly during the flash process. After flashing it will reboot automatically. Welcome back to [your favourite OS], %username%!
