Just bricked my asus 1215b and tried just about every method out there, but nothing works... Inside is MX25L1606E chip which SPIPGM does not support. So any help howto fix this would be appreciated
Did you tried the "Ctrl+Home" recovery procedure? andyp's Phoenix SLIC Mod tool found the recovery filename is BIOS.ROM. If you haven't tried this procedure, please try it. Rename the BIOS image to BIOS.ROM. Put BIOS.ROM in USB flash drive (FAT32). Removed battery & any peripheral devices. Unplugged AC adapter. Hold Ctrl+Home, plugged in AC adapter & after a couple of seconds, press power button (without releasing Ctrl+Home keys). After a couple of seconds, release the Ctrl+Home keys. If BIOS recovery is successfully triggered, you should see progress on the screen. If unsuccessful, try again without removing the battery. If you already tried this before & unsuccessful, I'm afraid the Boot Block or whatever it called in UEFI term, might already corrupted. If this is the case, the only solution is using SPI/BIOS programmer device.
Fujitsu ST6012 Tablet Bios Recovery I bricked my Fujitsu ST6012 Tablet and am trying to recover it. It is Phoenix bios and I have the .rom file. I created a CRISDISK USB stick and used phlash16 with my .rom file but it doesnt want to load the bios file.
Need Bios recovery help for bricked HP DV9620us Help!! Have a bricked HP DV9620us. Remote control did't work and thought I try the original Bios to see if something was wrong with the modded bios. Of course it did't work either so I replaced the original one with the modded again. After shutdown it won't boot. Bios version f.34 AMD Turion. Who do I recover it with crisis? Thanks
hi everyone, it`s time to ask for help. In short words, i tryed to flash my foxxconn nT-A3500 without success. So i got brick . May be you have some information how to recovery bios, may be with some recovery tools. I red on the forums about spi programm method, but i could not find proper eeprom at this time.
Hi, Thank you Kizwan for your reply. I attempted to redo the recovery procedure, and there is one improvement. I was doing the initiation of the BIOS recovery in a wrong way. Basically, all I did to make it work was to hold the END button then plug in the power followed by releasing the END button. Once that is done, the processor fan will start spinning at full speed. I created wincris USB rescue drive using two different USB flash drives (both are 4GB) and using various version of Phlash16 (v1.6.9.5, v1.7.0.18, v1.7.0.21), but none of them were accessed. The flash drives contain the minidos file, Phlash16 and a 5Mbye BIOS.WPH file (extracted from Dell's latest executable "1564_A13.exe"). I left the drive in for a few minutes sometimes but still nothing. I did also remove the HDD and DVD drive and the battery. I attempted to re-seat the RAM (tried both slot,, there is only one RAM module) but that didn't change anything. Any suggestions ?
I still believe WINCRIS package from "forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/15377-Dell-XPS-Studio-1640-Bios-update-problems-through-Phoenix-Recovery" should work on your Dell Inspiron 1564. Of course will need to put BIOS.WPH for Dell Inspiron 1564 in the package. - Can you get USB flash drive with size lower than 4GB? 2GB maybe. - Did you tried all USB ports? - Did any of the LED indicator on your notebook flashing with red & white light? - Did any of the LED indicator light up after plugging the AC adapter? (You know, the one supposed not to light up in normal condition.) The 3rd & 4th are indications the BIOS recovery is in progress.
I will try a smaller USB flash drive soon as soon as I find one. I did try all the USB ports though. No LEDs were on during the entire process.
Hi i have a Toshiba A200 PSAEOC-AH8O8C that has had a bad flash. I recently got a new hard drive and decided to install XP as i didnt have a Vista disc and XP was running alott faster on the machine, there were some things that i couldnt get to work even after downloading every driver i could find off the Toshiba.ca website, when i called and spoke to a toshiba rep he told me that i would have to do a BIOS update for the Windows XP which is also on the toshiba.ca website under my model. Well when i did the BIOS update it froze in the middle and now the computer is bricked, i can get it into recovery mode with Fn+B (the caps lock key light is on and also 2 other leds on the keyboard stay on, the power button turns a pinkish colour and the satellite symbol lights up and fans start running quickly) I have tried the USB method a few times with no success, I dont think the USB ports are working, i know the cd-rom is though and was wondering if i could make a cd, and how i would do that? Also when i download the BIOS from Toshiba and extract the file, i only get 2 files. i get a SETUP and a .rom file, would the .rom file be the one i rename to BIOS.WPH?
I have a Toshiba Satellite L755-S5246 that turned useless after getting a verify error during a bios flash that Toshiba support software kept popping up and telling me I needed. The Bios Flash program was Insyde. Once the computer went to sleep it has never booted again since. I can get the power light, battery light, ac plug light, and the hard drive light will blink some, plus the fan spins. But nada on the screen. I have tried different versions of the Phoenix Crisis Recovery disk method. None have worked for me yet. When looking through toshiba documentation I recognized the Insyde screen, so I guess my computer needs Insyde--not Phoenix? Or can either work? I have also tried to get the .td file into a flash drive to update it as this seems like perhaps the Insyde way to do things. I am at the end of my rope, I've been trying to fix this for three days and haven't really been able to get anything else done, took today off work and now feel like it was a total waste of time. I have called toshiba multiple times with no real support other than saying I need to send it in. Today I finally spoke to a tier 2 Tech, and basically told him I knew there were methods to fix this by booting from a cd or usb, but just needed to know the right process, hotkeys, and files to use. Of course he still said there was no way to fix it if I wasn't seeing the logo screen unless I sent it in. I'm nearly in tears, so I hope maybe you will give me some hopeful answers and help me get this thing running. I tried to look through this thread to see if there was anything specifically applicable to my model. I have tried a lot of suggestions that seemed close from here and otherwise, but am not having any luck with that, so I'm just going to ask for anyone who can give me advice for my computer.
Thanks for the steps to try Kizwan. Unfortunately, this didn't work. I tried all the variations with two different usb drives, one bigger and one smaller (one 4 gig, the other about 1 gig) The larger one would light up solid when the computer turned on for a while but never blinked. THe smaller one never lit up at all even though it lit up like crazy when I created it on my working PC. Any further suggestions? I have been calling around to PC repair places today, I am ready to admit I can't do it myself, but none of them sound super confident that they can recover it either, so I'm still looking for some way to fix it. Thank you!
