I tried the way you told me step-by-step but the pc is still dead... With the battery on i couldn't put it in recovery mode. I think that it doesn't read from the usb because the usb led doesn't flashes. Actually it flashes for 2-3 seconds and after nothing... Also when i used wincris, after it finishes, says re-plug the removable disk. What should i do then? Is the usb ready and bootable? It says it have 600mb used but i can't see anything inside it (i have ticked to see the hidden files). What should i try next?
Try to get a hold of an XP machine. The same happened to me until I did it on XP. If you're not seeing anything in your USB then somethings wrong.
Nothing again. Should i put usb at specific usb slot? I tried out at 2 of them. But luckily i found out toshiba has 3 years guarrantee not 2, so i took it to them.
No. Not really. There's no "special" USB port. Maybe you should've tried with a different combination (Fn+B, Windows key+ B etc) but since you're under warranty then take it to them. Good luck!
Been trying the procedures here under the Phoenix Crisis Recovery Disk on my bricked(shows only video card bios info, no lenovo logo) Lenovo G460. Ive tried two pen drives both 8gb Fat32 and have renamed the .rom file from lenovo website to bios.wph. Then ran crisdisk with bios.wph in the same folder. Booted using fn + b and fn + r, no screen but fan and power leds are on, USB light also blinks from time to time. I keep on having beeps (1 long 3 short) every few seconds. Then I unplug the AC and reboot but still no change. Any ideas?
Two things first! Iam new to this Forum und thanks for this great Guide!!! =) But at all, I have a really big problem. I tried to flash my bad Bios with Method 1. I formated the USB-Stick (2GB) with HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool to FAT with using DOS system files. This was okay. I copied the files "Autoexec" & "PHLASH16" to the root of the stick. Then i copied "30CFF2CA_SLIC.WPH" and renamed to "bios.wph". This steps worked fine. Then i put out the battery from my Notebook, put in the stick, press [WIN]+ and stick in the Power Cable. Then I pressed the Powerbutton but nothing is happening. I can press the Powerbutton ten times but nothing is changing. When I put in the battery, the Notebook is going on!!!! Without, nothing. What can be the problem???? Pls help me. On monday, I can became a USB-Floppy. But I would like to try it with USB-Stick this weekend. .::btw::. Notebook: HP Pavilion dv9720eg old BIOS Rom was F.2C flashed Rom is F.34 from HP Downloadsite OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

try turning of UAC or have a bootsector backup with hddhacker from someoes XP made USB or from Virtual Floppy Drive? then add files or even easier.. says use DOS (mistake on writers part.. DOS and command prompt are different ..nevermind) .. so make a USB Dos to make the second usb wincris or try hirens bot cd in usb and use a second usb
It worked with VMware and XP. But I became no good result. I have after Recovery the same problems. :'( I think this Notebook is completely bricked.
