I am hoping for some assistance.

I recently picked up an HP 6715b Laptop with the F.20 Bios loaded on it and I would like to either find a mod to allow the SLIC 2.1 or a way to downgrade it if at all possible so I can get my copy of W7 OEM loaded on here.

    Thanks!

I just bought asus k45dr laptop few days ago, and yesterday i try to update my bios (to K45DE-AS.223) via latest winflash application on Win 7 64 bit, but it keep loop from Erased - Flash - Verify (it said fail to match..bla.bla) then automatically loop again from Erased..for more than an hour! i cant stop it & then i force stop from task manager. After that my laptop hang & hard restart (plug off the batt), now i can't power on, no led light on, looks total dead, i already try ctrl-home + power button but not working, i dont want to bring to asus service center....cuz it usually take a long time in my country. I dont even know what bios system on my laptop, ami, award or phoenix?o_O What should i do? please any one help me :(

welcome.. always flash from dos if possible... and in this case no dos method posted on the site.

with phoenix mod tool i get this info
    EFI / Insyde BIOS
    Finished Extracting
    Tiano module compression method used

i think this one will need the original dvd to try and recover bios. asus usualy puts it in the dvd

    Hello Everyone.
Yesterday I unsucessfully flashed my Lenovo Edge E425 (1198-2LG Sabine).
Now it's only show blackscreen after power on.
I had read many posts about bios recovery for lenovo, but they not helped to me.
I create many times boot usb sticks with renamed original bios $0agb000.fl1 to bios.wph
And after power up with Fn+R it's not flash bios from usb stick.
I waste a few days, but result is still zero.
Maybe there is some specific with edge series laptops?

Rename original bios $0agb000.fl1 to BIOS.cap and copy it to a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive:

    BIOS.cap does not help me. I've tried on 3 flash drives(Kingston DTI 4 GB(Fat32), Transcend 4Gb(Fat32), SiliconPower(FAT).
Also, if I pressing Fn+Esc or Win+B or anything else except Fn+R, the led lightning for display power on after one-two seconds after PowerOn. When I pressiing the Fn+R the led lightning for display power on after 5 seconds. I think that is right combinations for my laptop.
I have two backups of old bioses (1.02 and 1.04 versions). When I opened they in PhoenixTool, they a recognise as EFI/Insyde.

Hello again everyone, earlier I tried asking for the BIOS file name, if I were to bot from a flash drive. I have been trying for over a month now please help me, information below
    Model: Easynote TK81-SB-573NC
BIOS Version: (currently installed) 2.00 (installed before) 2.06 (I mistakingly installed a wrong bios)
BIOS: Insyde BIOS (as far as I can see)
BIOS: (for some reason I'm not allowed to post links) Just search the packard bell website for the drivers. (enter website: support -> download center -> Notebook -> Easynote -> EN TK81 -> 64-bit)

I mistakingly installed 2.00 and the screen no longer shows, but I can hear windows if i click on the pc. I would really appreciate some help, thanks in advance

I've tested the files mediafire. com /?a6s8p5nht61t7xo from this thread

And my Transcend flash begin ligth and then is shut off. I thinck that was unexpected error in code.
I want to say that Lenovo seek for the file BIOS.cap and try to load and apply it. I think that we are need make a right BIOS.cap.

Hi again, was wondering if anyone had any ideas regarding the HP 6715b with F.20 BIOS on it. Is there a SLIC 2.1 BIOS mod/upgrade or a way to successfully downgrade the BIOS to something that is compatible?

I think you should try copy bios file to FAT32 formatted flash(<4gb) and name it ux32.rom
than remove battery cd and HDD, press WIN+B(may try another combinations), then connect AC adapter and power on book, after a few seconds release keys. Look at flash led activity.
This summer I recovered Asus K43T by this method.
