Well sinse my lappy is bricked and the lastest BIOS wouldnt flash I figured I would try all the older one's I could find. here's whats happened BIOS F.12 - sp42534 goes all the way threw then gives error tone and two beeps BIOS F.23 - sp32588 goes all the way threw then sits BIOS F.35 Rev.A Driver - sp42684 goes all the way threw then sits BIOS F.36 Rev.A - sp43029 goes all the way threw then sits BIOS F.39 - sp38062 goes all the way threw then sits BIOS F.41 Driver - sp42603 goes all the way threw then gives error tone and two beeps BIOS F.44 1.1 - SP43664 goes all the way threw then gives error tone and two beeps BIOS F.45 1.1 - sp43665 goes all the way threw then gives error tone and two beeps BIOS F.54 - SP35204 goes all the way threw then beeps once All of the above BIOS are for HP/Compaq notebooks with AMD processors I know I had BIOS F.44 on my lappy before I tryed to update to BIOS F.54 the weird thing is, BIOS F.54 is 517kb, and all the others are are just over 1 meg, except BIOS F.23, that is 515kb. so I'm guessing BIOS F.23 and BIOS F.54 arent full flashes... anyone have some input on that? also, did anyone look @ my video I posted? is all the beeping supposed to be going on while it's reading the floppy?
@ Cuetip, as far as i can see your laptop aint bricked you can still flash your bios so to me it seems like you have flashed with the wrong version to start with and obviously given the bios modders the wrong one also. Hopefully when you find correct bios yuo will be ok
I have an Acer 5652 that I just bricked by trying to flash a phoenix bios with modified whitelist. It froze at the last step (programming 17/17) and I had to shut it off. Now pressing the power button does NOTHING, its dead. No fans, no LED, nothing. I tried holding FN+B, Win+B, FN+Esc while trying to turn it on, nothing happens. I am out of ideas. Is taking the bios out an option for notebooks? Could I flash it in a different 5652 if I hot-swap it? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance, Zak Update: I got the mainboard out, more bad news: its a soldered on SST39VF080. Any ideas?
