Thanks Zort, Will this flash .rom extension ? - I made a cd rom earlier and got error : bios.wph not found Should I rename to .wph ?
It should flash .rom extensions. You probably had an autoexec to flash "bios.wph" but the bios file was named something else. You need to edit the autoexec.bat to change the name or rename the bios file.
Is there a bios tool that I can use to check a phoenix bios file for 2.1 SLIC ? Neither of Andy's tools opens it.
What if i use other phoenix bios for making backup? Are there any option or settings for winphlash that can make me bios backup without requiring the original bios firmware? thanks!
NOPE... The platform data is for flash, it is not flashed to the eeprom. You can have the eeprom programed with a programmer and a backup, but the flash program will not know what to do with it.. You can mod a backup, and use a programmer to flash it..
It seems to be that I really have to contact the customer support of my notebook and ask a copy of the original firmware of my bios. I should have bought a notebook with better support. By the way, I manage to create a bios backup using an official dell phoenix bios firmware and winphlash ver 2.02 with no error. But, the problem is I am not sure if it safe to use it to flash my notebook bios. Is it there a way to verify the bios backup authenticity?
Phoenix mod tool download location? Where can the latest phoenix mod tool (Phoenix Mod Tool v0.046?) be downloaded from? Thanks!!
