Hello guys I am looking for the seemingly obscure tool AMISDE (AMI Setup Data Extraction) which works in conjunction with AMISCE to enable modification of all variables in the UEFI whether or not they are marked as 'setup' variables. I have run a search on this thread and on the 'BIOS Mods' forum it is in looking for the term 'AMISDE' and only found one old reference which did not have any links. If anyone could point me towards this tool or give me some ideas about where to look I would be very grateful.
Hello. You sure it works in conjunction? AMISCE loads everything from HII database. The database is populated with setting from all over the UEFI. But there are two conditions for this. EFI driver is allowed publish its resources to the database. Variable store which refers to one or another setting has the attribute of BS access. I know this because I had success in adding support of SCE. As you may know, SCE can only manipulate the existing settings. You hope changing this with AMISDE? So it could get another bunch from nowhere?
In normal operation mode AMISCE only pulls 'setup' variables but there are other variables in the UEFI. Running AMISCE in raw mode allows pulling all the variables from NVRAM however they will be in large hex code blocks rather than neatly arranged and broken into separate settings like with normal operation mode. From my reading in the AMISCE user manual it appears that the separate tool AMISDE is able to output a file with the offsets for the separate settings inside of the large hex code variable blocks which should allow changing settings beyond those marked as 'setup' such as those related to low level function of the PCIe bus. The bottom of page 31 of the AMISCE 5.x user guide which I acquired is where it mentions using AMISDE to assist with variable manipulation in raw mode with AMISCE. So far AMISDE appears to be an extremely elusive tool but hopefully someone knows where/how it can be acquired
