Not sure if this is the right plce to post...I have an HP media center desktop from 2007, m8167c, that I replaced the motherboard in. Is there an HP DMI tool available from back then so I could update the model, serial, etc on the motherboard? The only ones i've found seem to be for HP notebooks, not desktops.
I poked around on this forum, only link i found was for an ftp at a web page called motes electronics which doesnt seem to work anymore sadly. i'll keep looking though.
I got my DMI updated! I used DMICFG for some of it, then found DMI editor 2.00.44 which let me edit the SKU and the OEM Strings to match what my recovery cds looked for. It wasnt the HP tools mentioned above necessarily but I did find them through this forum! Very helpful and now I have my classic PC restored to its original state with all available windows updates installed and can keep it offline for legacy use now.
