I see people request a bios to be transcoded when 2 or 3 more recent bios updates were released before they even made that request, updates that contained extremely important to support the OS that they're planning to use or high priority updates so why is that? Does that mean that it doesn't matter which bios you pick and that the transcoded bios only serves as a "carrier" to get the slic updated and that any non-transcoded biosupdates after this update will keep the slic intact? I hope you understand what I mean, otherwise feel free to ask. Thank you.
You have to mod the new bios before upgrade to keep Vista activated. There where some so called FC mods on Asus boards with AMI bios that stayed activated after upgrade with a new bios. But Asus put a stop at that, so they have to be mod too before upgrade. I think that's a anwser you're question.
