    Hello all,

This may not be possible but still, I'll ask. Can I encrypt my Windows 7 HDD with bitlocker's PIN only but without using the TPM or USB flash drive?

I've searched throughout the web but couldn't find any reference to bitlocker encryption with PIN only.

    Thanks!

Nope, you can't find anything since it isn't possible in the first place. If you want pure PIN-only authentication, try TrueCrypt. However, it will fail on Windows 7 unless your system and boot partitions are the same.

OK, very old thread, but the issue could possibly be "fixable"

Windows 8 adds the option to use PIN only WITHOUT TPM

So would it be possible to hack the files needed for Bitlocker from Win8 to Win7

Not every PC on the market even currently has TPM chip

And Truecrypt is not an option for system drive for Win 7 installed on GPT UEFI disk!
