Go into the bios settings and select your DVD drive to boot before your hard drive. Most likely the reason you cannot boot CDs is because your harddrive is set to boot before the CD/DVD drives. That has to be reversed to work. @Shareall, I guess that driver does not support your card. Try to get another older driver for vista x32 and see if that works. Just make sure it is 175.X or older or it will have PhysX.
Well, all is running fine with that driver anyway,so far. The only thing is when i try to stress the Grafic Card then i get dark screen with some crazy constant sound that wont stop and i have to shut down. That happened when i whent to "Performance and Tools in control panel to do an update on the kvalification of computer, because it says i got some new hardware and windows Experience Index needs to update. So that stres the grafic card to much. Now the computer have been running all day and is not getting as hot like before. Seems like that older driver is doing something good. But still something is very wrong about the fan since it can not be recogniced by any program, that's weird... I still await HP service guy to call back about this. Also he said it can be that the motherboard has to be replaced.
Well my pc won't open any dvd's so stats the thing, is it possible to install it from a USB? Like reinstalling windows with an USB instead of a DVD ?
What do you mean it wont open any dvd's we are talking booting from dvd not opening it in windows did you go into bios and check settings as advised ? and yes windows can be installed from USB if it is setup to boot from USB in bios the same as DVD needs to be.
Well, that is good that at least it is holding more stable then before. The reason behind that is because the newer drivers have that Nvidia PhysX that uses the GPU to create real-life physcs thereby heating it up more. I would still say that most likely your fan in your vid card is going out though dude. Like I said, try opeing it up in that area and see if you can see anything weird.
But still i would like to find the 175 driver that is more correct for my grafic card. This one is not. Seems hard to find so please anyone...
I know it is hard to find, it seems like Nvidia really does not even support your model. The only thing I can think of is trying to google "Nvidia drivers 17X series for 8600M GS" or something like that.
NONE of the old drivers does help. This morning i got the bluescreen again and could start only in "safe mode". Tried the other 175xxx and 176xxx drivers getting same or similar problem. DAMN HP and nvidia :-(
Sorry to hear that dude. My next advise would be not to run your computer that hard until you hear back from HP. If you don't hear back within like another day or whatnot I would call them back.
I second this. After sending the HP support an email, and calling them once (being told they would get back to me), I waited patiently for about a month before I finally called them again. Turned out they forgot me
oh right, those that said 7000 model ? and btw if i use daz' loader do i need to get slic 2.1 or what..
Well good luck, if you use the Daz loader you will not need slic 2.1 because daz's loader emulates slic 2.1
hmm i got today a pink screen... that was when i installed a videocard from the medion website.. what should i do now? how can i see wich driver i have installed?
