I have an ASUS Z87-Pro motherboard that's supposed to have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities. Both settings are in the BIOS and they're enabled, but once I installed windows neither appear in windows. All the drivers are installed so I'm wondering why they're not present. Is this motherboard defective?

    Hi there! :)

I recommend booting from a live Linux USB or Windows PE and checking whether the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices are detected there. This way you can determine whether the problem is hardware-related or specific to your current Windows installation and drivers.

If the devices are not detected in the live environment either, that would suggest a hardware issue.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried linux mint and nothing showed up. I guess I need to start looking for a new computer.

Are you able to screw in the aerial cables at the back? If not, then the wifi/bt module isn't installed...

Its worth to check what Flipp3r said.
I was wondering: has your Wi-Fi/Bluetooth never worked, or did it stop working at some point?

In Windows, do you see any Wi-Fi or Bluetooth options? Are any nearby Wi-Fi networks showing up?

I just got this system a few weeks ago and I didn't even realize they were supposed to be there until stated poking around in the BIOS.

@Flipp3r I cannot do that which means it was never installed like you suggested
