    Hello everyone!
Is it possible to boot "only" linux kernel and bash on Live USB?
    With "only" I mean:

    - linux kernel (vanilla or other patched one)
    - network support (ethernet and wifi)
    - bash (to download and run packages)

Is there a way so to put kernel + bash into usb drive and boot it Live ??

I'm asking because I want / need to run a single process, and I want it to start immediatly after pc boot, and have all hardware power free from any other useless thing.

how about roll your own minimalistic debian/redhat livecd? if you can customize it? it can fit inside a 128MB usb stick... use max squashfs compression with a block size of 1M.... makes sense?
