What PSU do you have? OC requires a strong PSU, not only in general wattage (1000W+), but also in possible current on the individual rails. Almost nobody ever considers it could just be the PSU not delivering stable power.
I have the Seasonic 1600W Noctua Edition PSU. Brand new and seems to be fine. Ran with PBO2 +200 today with lower negative offset in Curve Optimizer and have not had any crashing/freezing/lock ups so far! Will keep testing and report back.
Good point. Quick question - I created a Win 11 ISO using Chris Titus' "Windows Utility" to debloat the install (OneDrive removed etc.) and as soon as I finished installing and got to the desktop, I checked for updates but it keeps saying "updates failed to install." That's really odd since it's a brand new/fresh/clean install of Win 11 on the NVMe drive. I ran SFC /SCANNOW and it said there were corrupt files but it was unable to fix them! I then used DISM commands to fix the Component Store and reran SFC and it said no integrity violations found. Tried running the Win Update again but it keeps failing. Is the Windows install borked? I've now tried to do the fresh install with the custom ISO three (3) times and same error each time! If I use Windows Update, the cumulative update (KB50625353) fails. This never happened when I did a 'regular' "fresh" install using the ISO from this website here. Did the "MicroWin" utility corrupt something when it "injected drivers" or something? I really like the de-bloated Win 11 install but obv not with such corruption/problems.
Yeah, chopping the ISO never leads to good things these days. Matters have changed, and outdated tools might simply "doing it wrong" with new branches, where MS combined features together. By imposing old procedures onto these new branches, you effectively lobotomize your Windows. Just sayin'
First of all, the one asking for help should say if he is using zombie Windows, in that case any discussion is futile.
If you really have to uninstall something, remove it from the already installed Windows, don't use third-party options that you don't know what they do, use what Windows provides, it does it best. Example of how to uninstall the Microsoft Store Package: Search, type in Group Policy Editor, Open: User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > App Package Deployment
How hard is it to set the BIOS settings to default in order to rule out a hardware issue? EXPO OFF. edit: Download latest chipset driver from AMD site. I wouldn't use a 3rd party program to update the drivers.
Regarding the new Win 11 Pro install, I did a clean/fresh install yesterday and tested everything - CPU, GPU, and RAM. All passed without any issues/freezing/errors. EDIT: Fixed the crashing by reducing the Curve Optimizer offset. PC was freezing/locking up at idle/low loads due to voltage going too low!
