Also, in case anyone is interested, a GDR release usually relates to security issues, and stands for General Distribution.

While the version update seems rather unusual, you need to recall that with any new OS (or any app for that matter) there are always known issues that are still being worked on while the RTM process continues. In this case we have known for a long time that MS started the SP1 development/packaging process very early in W7's development in order to be able to release a service pack sooner for those organizations that might want to wait for an SP before beginning deployment. It is also quite likely that during this process they discovered a security issue in the kernel that necessitated an update asap.

I'm sure that these will show up on WU eventually. Again, you need to remember that some updates are made available through MS Download weeks and some times months before WU, and further, many hotfixes are never made available to the public until they are incorporated into a SP.

these are just hotfixes..we can just install these updates and update to the new build...no need to reinstall OS again even if the msdn/technet iso comes integrated with them..

Im actually happy that MS did this. Chances are Ill be buying anyways as a family pack when it comes out, but its refreshing to see them do something about piracy in a legitimate way.

Anyone who has installed these updates with a loader installed is still activated. They haven't done s**t about piracy. xD

Are you sure it's possible, didn't see that earlier, had seen one for VLK XP/2003 which was great, but with Vista everything changed

It is not possible..It was facetious comment meaning that if it comes out tomorrow or December, it isn't going to work. It may *Possibly* install the OS, they will never activate or validate. The keygens for XP/2003 never worked well. They would not validate. Installing and validating is two different things.

Blocked keys will still install the OS, but then what??

If they do, another one will be leaked. Eventually they will not be able to revoke the keys without causing too much trouble for their OEM partners.

    No doubt....
But all the people saying "LOLOLOLOLOOLOL IT WERKZ STIL!!!!!" are wrong because the key they're saying works still, won't be working for very much long.

This is an OEM offline activation. If you never run windows update then your OS will always be activated. There are other ways to get updates other than windows update.

No, you just wait for another one, nothing more to do by the moment.
